Azerbaijan has strong political will to combat climate change, Special Representative of European Council Secretary Alexandre Guessel said at the plenary session themed "World Religions for a Green Planet" during the Global Summit of Religious Leaders in Baku, Report informs.
Guessel emphasized the critical importance of addressing climate change to protect future generations.
"This problem poses a threat to fundamental human rights," Guessel stated. "Religions and beliefs play a crucial role in building social cohesion and tolerance. We must keep the dialogue and contact between religious confessions open." He further affirmed the European Council's unwavering commitment to its mission of ensuring peace, with the promotion of interreligious dialogue within and beyond Europe being a primary objective.
