Shamil Ayrim: Religious leaders' summits may play important role in drawing attention to climate issues

Summits of religious leaders can play an important role in drawing attention to the climate crisis and mobilizing citizens to fight climate change, Turkish Grand National Assembly deputy Shamil Ayrim said at the plenary session "World Religions for a Green Planet" during the Global Summit of Religious Leaders in Baku, Report informs.
In his opinion, climate change is not only an environmental issue but also a moral and spiritual problem.
"In all religions, environmental protection is considered an important issue. Religion can play a powerful role in solving climate problems. We must continue joint efforts for a 'green world'."
