James O'Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, has outlined a vision for enhanced cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States on regional security matters.
Responding to a question from Report, O'Brien stated that the two countries are already collaborating effectively while voicing hope that they will do more as they move forward, ensuring security and peace, addressing threats from outside the region, and generally strengthening trust within the region.
The US official voiced belief that working on the Middle Corridor, with routes through both Georgia and Armenia, will be a significant step forward.
The US diplomat underscored the potential of this initiative to unite people across the region, describing it as a powerful factor in building trust and awareness.
O'Brien also praised the recent border demarcation agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, calling it a very important step forward.
