Washington has expressed its readiness to host a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, James O'Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, told journalists during his visit to Baku.
According to Report, O'Brien said the focus is on what would be most beneficial for both sides.
The US official voiced hope that the foreign ministers will find an opportunity to meet in the very near future and if this happens in Washington, the United States would be delighted to host them in whatever role it can play.
The diplomat also highlighted the existence of multiple channels of communication between Azerbaijan and Armenia, praising the effectiveness of their direct contact.
He said Washington is participating in this process as friends, ready to help in any way it can.
