Azerbaijan's Maritime and Port Agency issues critical weather warning

The State Maritime and Port Agency of Azerbaijan has issued an urgent weather warning for vessels navigating in the country's territorial waters. This alert comes in response to a dramatic shift in weather conditions expected to impact the Caspian Sea region.

The Vessel Traffic Management Center, operating under the State Maritime and Port Agency of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport told Report that strong north-westerly and northerly winds are expected to sweep across the Caspian Sea starting from the second half of today and continuing until the early hours of June 27.

Meteorologists expect waves to reach 2-4 meters in height, with the possibility of towering 4.5-5.5 meter waves as wind speeds increase.

An increase in northwest and north winds is expected, with wind velocity to reach 18-23 m/s, in some areas up to 25-28 m/s, and up to 30 m/s in the open sea.
