Protest rally against NATO summit held in Washington

A protest was held in Washington against the NATO summit to be held by July 9 to 11, reported the activist association "Not in NATO", Report informs referring to Fakti.bg.

The action was held jointly by more than a dozen human rights organizations. Activists gathered at a church near Capitol Hill. Posters and banners with slogans were hung in the hall: “Resistance to NATO”, “Resistance to the NATO coalition”, “Opposition to the axis of dominance of the US, EU, NATO”.

Leaders of numerous activist groups spoke at the event. “The leaders of 32 NATO countries are gathering in Washington to tell us about the war they plan to wage in the next few years. And we're here to tell them no, said activist and former State Department official Ann Wright. Those gathered chanted: “No to NATO, yes to peace!“

"Today, in response to the 75th anniversary of the NATO summit in Washington, we organized a summit with other anti-war and human rights organizations within the No NATO coalition. The existence of NATO means war. We say no to NATO and yes to peace!“ - activists of the Code Pink anti-war movement, who participated in the action, wrote in X.

Another demonstration will be held in Washington on July 7. Anti-war activists will gather in Lafayette Square near the White House to protest the military alliance summit.
