Patriarch Ilia II praises Azerbaijan's role in fostering international cooperation

The hosting of several major international events in Azerbaijan is a testament to the country's success in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of international cooperation and trust, according to the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, Report informs.

In his address to the participants of the Baku Global Summit of Religious Leaders, Ilia II stated, "Georgia warmly welcomes the hosting of the COP29 climate conference in Azerbaijan. Our neighboring and friendly country, the Republic of Azerbaijan, is known for its tolerant traditions and multicultural values."

He further noted that under the initiative and support of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has hosted numerous significant global events on inter-civilizational and inter-religious dialogue, clearly demonstrating the country's achievements in creating and ensuring an atmosphere of international cooperation and trust.

Ilia II also expressed hope that the Baku Global Summit of Religious Leaders will be productive and help define further climate action targets.
