The proposal from developed countries regarding the new collective quantitative goal (NCQG) for climate financing is unacceptable, Lidy Nakpil, a representative of the Pacific Movement for Reparations and Development, told journalists, according to Report.
"This deal is unacceptable. We would rather fight for another year than agree to a really bad deal. We call on developing country governments to reject it; that's better than what they're offering us," she said.
According to Nakpil, the NCQG goals presented by developed countries seem more like a joke and are offensive.
She also expressed satisfaction with the fact that governments of Global South countries also disagree with the NCQG proposal made.
