Flights restriction to Russia’s south extended until October 2

For the 36th time, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency has extended the regime of temporary flight restrictions at 11 airports in the southern and central parts of Russia. The ban was introduced until October 2, Report informs with reference to the message of the department.

Flights to the airports of Rostov-on-Don, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Elista, Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk and Lipetsk are limited. As an alternative, it is recommended to use airports in Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow.

The regime of temporary restriction of flights was introduced against the backdrop of hostilities in Ukraine. Due to the ban, the passenger traffic of Kuban airports has already decreased by a third. Against the backdrop of a reduction in the number of flights, Russian Railways launched more than 1,000 additional trips to the southern regions of the Russian Federation.
