The European Union has recalled its ambassador from Niger for consultations due to disagreements with authorities over humanitarian aid, Report informs referring to the website of the European External Action Service.
This concerns the statement of Niger's transitional government, which questions the agreements and the EU delegation's management of humanitarian aid provided to victims of severe floods that hit the country. In this regard, the EU has decided to recall its ambassador from Niamey for consultations in Brussels, the statement said.
The EU accused Niger's authorities of politicizing the humanitarian aid issue.
