A devastating landslide triggered by heavy rains has claimed the lives of nine people, including seven children from a single family, in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The tragedy unfolded in the village of Kabulu, located in the South Kivu province, a representative of the local administration said, Report informs via Reuters.
The heartbreaking incident left a resident of Kabulu village mourning the loss of his wife and seven children. An additional child also fell victim to the catastrophic consequences of the severe weather conditions. Authorities warned that the death toll might rise as search efforts continue for those still missing.
