Normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia is impossible without a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, Yevgeny Mikhailov, an expert on interethnic conflicts, a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, told Report.
“As we know, the Turkish foreign minister announced that Ankara is preparing to appoint a special representative and is ready to launch charter flights between the two countries, which will speed up the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. Importantly, the attention of the world community was focused on the fact that all actions of Turkey are coordinated with Azerbaijan,” Mikhailov said.
He added that a positive perception of the steps of Turkey and Azerbaijan by Armenia itself is impossible without the participation of Moscow: “I believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin has used the maximum leverage that the country has in order for Yerevan to meet Ankara and Baku halfway.”
