It is the right decision for Georgia to suspend EU membership negotiations until the end of 2028, Levan Mamaladze, head of the Georgian Strategic Planning Center, told Report.
According to Mamaladze, Georgia's integration into the EU has been discussed for many years: "However, as we progressed, we faced stronger pressures and unreasonable conditions from the EU."
The center head also said that "the EU's demand to abolish the bill 'On Transparency of Foreign Influence' is the most illogical approach: Because the government requires all foreign-funded organizations to continue their activities transparently. Another illogical pressure from the EU is related to Georgia's decision on 'Protection of Family Values.' The EU demands the abolition of this decision so that LGBT propaganda can be spread more easily."
Addressing the protests in Georgia, Mamaladze stated that it won't be possible to break the Georgian people with these protests and coup attempts: "Current President Salome Zurabishvili wants to do all the harm she can. She seems to be not the President of Georgia, but a puppet of the US, France, and other European countries here. But she should know that she won't achieve any success by participating in rallies.
In a few weeks, a new president will be elected in Georgia, and the candidate has been presented. The president will be elected through a new election system, and all Western games will end in December."
