Russian Foreign Ministry: Necessary to make adjustments to grain deal agreement

Russia will think about the necessity of the grain deal if it is not amended, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin said on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel, Report informs.

According to Vershinin, only one part of the deal is being fulfilled - the export of Ukrainian grain. At the same time, the second part of the deal on unhindered access of Russian agricultural products to the world market does not suit Moscow.

“If there is no adjustment, then we must ask ourselves: why is all this being done - for commercial purposes, for political purposes, or in order to really ensure global security in the world and take into account the interests of the world’s poorest countries?”

He added that there is no progress on the world market in terms of lifting restrictions on the export of Russian fertilizers.

He noted that for the effective export of Russian fertilizers, it is necessary to remove all barriers to financial transactions, allow ships with Russian agricultural products to enter the ports of foreign countries, and also ensure fair insurance for such cargoes.

“But this is still being discussed, and, unfortunately, there is no progress yet. We will achieve it,” the diplomat added.
