Another low-cost airline wants to operate flights to Baku

Oman's low-cost airline SalamAir plans to fly to Baku this year, the airline's Director-General Mohammad Ahmed said, Report informs via foreign media.

He said SalamAir would buy a new Airbus A321 in February, bringing its fleet to eight.

The new aircraft will help the company achieve its expansion plan next summer, especially as it plans to fly to new destinations in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Turkey. These new destinations include Baku, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Osh and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, and Trabzon in Turkey.

The head of the company noted that SalamAir operated 9,200 flights last year with a 71% capacity and carried more than 1 million passengers.
