Apple to cut iPhone, AirPods output amid Ukraine war uncertainty

Apple plans to make about 20% fewer iPhone SEs next quarter than originally planned, in one of the first signs that the Ukraine war and looming inflation have started to dent consumer electronics demand, Report informs referring to Nikkei Asia.

The American tech giant has also cut more than 10 million AirPods orders for all of 2022 as the company forecasts weak demand.

Apple asked suppliers to produce a couple of million units of the entire iPhone 13 lineup less than previously planned, but said the adjustment was based on seasonal demand.

In early March, Apple announced the termination of the sale of its products in Russia. According to IDC analysts cited by the newspaper, Apple sold five million iPhones in Russia in 2021, which provided the company with 16% of sales of the entire market in the country - the third highest among mobile gadget manufacturers.
