Azerbaijan, Spain may sign investment promotion and protection agreement

An agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments may be signed between Azerbaijan and Spain.

Referring to the Ministry of Economy, Report informs that this issue was discussed during the visit of the delegation led by First Deputy Minister Elnur Aliyev to Madrid, Spain.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of Spain, Xiana Margarida Mendez Bertolo.

Providing information on the potential of economic and trade relations between the two countries, Aliyev noted the importance of business meetings with the participation of business circles in realizing these opportunities. He gave detailed information about the favorable business and investment environment created in Azerbaijan, the work done for the purpose of reintegration and business revival in the liberated territories, and the opportunities created for investors.

The importance of the preparation of the "Agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Spain" was emphasized in terms of increasing mutual investments between the two countries and ensuring legal regulation in this direction.

Xiana Margarida Mendez Bertolo noted the mutually beneficial cooperation of the two countries and shared her views on the directions of expanding the partnership.

The parties discussed the current state of economic relations, the prospects for the development of cooperation.
