According to the strategic plan of AzerGold CJSC, along with the new Greenfield projects, a total of 10 deposits are planned to be commissioned from 2022 to 2029, including 4 gold, 1 polymetal, 3 copper and 2 iron ore deposits, Deputy Board Chairman of AzerGold Khayyam Farzaliyev said at the presentation of the book "Mineral Exploration and Mining Essentials," Report informs.

He noted that exploration and research work in several promising areas is being carried out according to plan.

"During the period of the company's activity, a total of about 240,000 meters of drilling was carried out, which is a high figure for the country's mining industry. In 2017, the company's metal reserves, calculated in ounces at 179,000 gold equivalents, increased 24 times to 4.4 million ounces of gold equivalent."

Farzaliyev noted that AzerGold exported 287,000 ounces of gold and 530,000 ounces of silver to the international market during its existence.

"About 757 million manat was attracted to the country's economy from the sale of precious metals in just over 5 years. At present, transit ores are being exploited for the transition from the oxide phase to the sulfide phase of the Chovdar gold deposit in the Dashkasan district, as well as the Agyokhush 1 and Marah gold deposits discovered by the company's geologists. By the way, as a result of exploration work carried out by our geologists in Dashkasan last year, another area, 'Narimanli' potential gold deposit, was discovered. At present, relevant geological research is underway in this area," said the deputy chairman.
