Eco-friendly cars imported to Azerbaijan may be exempt from import duties

A draft resolution of Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers has been prepared on the implementation of proposals related to stimulating and promoting the use of environmentally friendly vehicles, which is the main direction of a special “Roadmap” developed by the private sector in this area, Report informs.

In this regard, it is planned to make changes to the “Commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of Azerbaijan, rates of import customs duties and rates of export customs duties,” approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan dated November 17, 2017 No. 500.

According to the amendment, it is proposed to exempt environmentally friendly vehicles imported into Azerbaijan from customs duties.

The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was developed and submitted to the relevant state bodies (to the ministries of economy, justice, finance, ecology and natural resources). After drawing up the final version of the draft resolution, it will be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers.
