"After the liberation of its lands from the Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan called for the restoration of those lands, the safe return of people there, provision of their economic development, their integration into the country's economy, and so on," Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said at an event on "Financing Sustainable Development: Sustainable and Green Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic" in Baku, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan's priorities in this direction coincide with the priorities of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the occupation, Armenians destroyed houses and social facilities in those areas, damaged the economy, and caused an environmental disaster. Rehabilitation of these areas requires considerable financial resources. Attracting foreign investment in the liberated territories will significantly increase investment in the Azerbaijani economy," he added.
