Agriculture and tourism have more potential in Azerbaijan, Taro Sawada, the president of TET International Development Japan, said at the Osaka-Azerbaijan Tourism Forum in Baku, Report informs.
"We started working in the field of tobacco sector in Azerbaijan 5 years ago. Currently, we have more than 2,000 employees in 4 plants. After coming to this country, we saw that the agricultural and tourism sectors have more potential. Since we are already working in the agricultural field, we have started to do certain things related to tourism. In the last 2 years, we have done a number of things to establish cooperation with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) under the State Tourism Agency, and we will continue these steps. Support measures are being implemented to strengthen relations in the field of tourism between the Japanese city of Osaka and Baku," he noted.
Javanshir Bayramov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of ATB, said that ATB is interested in expanding cooperation in the field of tourism with Japan, especially Osaka. According to him, the Board will participate in the international tourism exhibition to be held in Japan this month in order to increase tourism relations.
