The Netherlands has developed a mobility vision that defines a new approach to transport, and work is underway to expand its coverage, vice-minister for the environment at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Afke van Rijn, said at the Ministerial Meeting on Urbanization and Climate Change within COP29, Report informs.
She noted that smart transport solutions are encouraged in the country, and work is being carried out at the government level and with all stakeholders to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.
The minister added that transport plays a key role in combating climate change, therefore this sector should be prioritized, and an integrated approach is needed to achieve sustainable development goals.
