Azerbaijan invites Armenia to COP29 climate talks

Azerbaijan has invited Armenia to the COP29 climate summit, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said, Report infroms via The National.

“COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev … has sent a letter of invitation to the minister of foreign affairs of Armenia. We have sent a formal invitation.”

Hajiyev said that sending this letter when the two countries do not have official diplomatic relations is an example of Azerbaijan's goodwill and inclusive approach.

The president's aide added that COP29 is a global effort and the crucial negotiations "go beyond the borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan."

“Now it is the time for the Government of Armenia to decide.”
