The railway systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia have been integrated into a multimodal digital platform, serving as a Digital Trade Corridor for countries along the Middle Corridor, Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Transport Talgat Lastaev said, Report informs.
Lastaev made this statement during a ministerial roundtable themed "Sustainable and Digital Middle Corridor and Beyond," held as part of COP29.
He noted that negotiations are being conducted with Türkiye and European railway administrations in this direction: "The platform was developed by Singapore's PSA company. The platform allows tracking of cargo along the corridor."
The deputy minister emphasized that plans are in place to ensure data exchange between the terminal operating systems of Aktau, Kuryk, and Baku ports this year.
Lastaev noted that Kazakhstan has already implemented a system for exchanging permit forms for road freight transportation with 42 countries: "We have also launched a pilot project for electronic permit form exchange with Uzbekistan. By the end of the year, we will complete the integration of electronic permit forms for transportation between Kazakhstan and China, enabling 60% of all permits to be digitized."
