The Parliamentary Meeting organized jointly by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan began its work as part of the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (COP29).
According to Report, the event is attended by more than 160 parliamentarians, including 12 speakers and vice-speakers, with a total of up to 330 participants from 66 countries and international organizations.

A Parliamentary Meeting on the occasion of the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, has kicked off in Baku.
According to Report , the two-day event includes 92 delegations from 66 countries and international organizations, with 330 participants, including 167 parliament members led by 12 speakers and vice-speakers.
The meeting will address topics such as the impacts of climate change, the role of parliaments in implementing ambitious climate commitments, the development of climate financing structures, building resilience, equitable approaches to climate action, technological advancements for climate change mitigation, health and food security, and managing climate-related population displacement.
A concluding document will be adopted at the end of the sessions.
Certain bilateral meetings are also planned to be held within the framework of the event.
