An investment forum on renewable energy projects in Asia will be held in Baku for the first time in June 2025, Francesco La Camera, director general of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), said at a press conference during COP29 in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that the last similar forum was held in West Africa and had good results. He added that IRENA expects to achieve good results from the discussions held in Baku.
"It's important to recognize Azerbaijan's leadership position in the region (in implementing RES projects). This will create enormous opportunities for developing renewable energy sources in the region," he said.
Francesco La Camera added that the Agency works with countries on energy planning and their subsequent implementation, transformation, and financing simplification.
