During the COP29 summit, ministers from Central Asian countries signed a joint Declaration on "Partnership in Climate Change, Glaciers, and Transboundary Cooperation."

According to Report, the event brought together ministers from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Green Climate Fund.

The meeting focused on the launch of the "From Glaciers to Households" (G2F) program, which aims to support measures to increase climate resilience, mitigate the impact of melting glaciers, and ensure water and food security in the region. The program is set to be financed through the Green Climate Fund and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The signed Declaration facilitates the exchange of information and expertise, the development of early warning systems, and the implementation of climate-adapted solutions. It is seen as a crucial step in protecting glaciers and strengthening climate change mitigation efforts in Central and Western Asia.
