Deputy minister: Entrusting COP29 to Azerbaijan is clear example of value given at international level

Entrusting Azerbaijan with the hosting of COP29 is a clear example of the value given to the country at the international level, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rauf Hajiyev said, Report informs.

According to Rauf Hajiyev, Azerbaijan is conducting close negotiations with international organizations and various countries on the strengthening of global solidarity within the framework of its COP29 presidency.

“We are also closely cooperating with the UAE and Brazil regarding the COP,” he said.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan has set specific goals for reducing gas emissions to a minimum until 2030. At the same time, by 2030, it is planned to restore thousands of hectares of forest areas both in the liberated areas and in other parts of the country.
