The COP29 Presidency has actively led international efforts to strengthen joint activities in the field of climate and peace connection over the past few months, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the high-level panel session "Climate and Peace: Joint Action to Leave No One Behind" held on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Report informs.
According to Bayramov, conflicts and their destructive effects on infrastructure and biodiversity lead to a deepening of the climate crisis, damaging peace, sustainability, and development.
The minister noted that for the second time in the history of COP conferences, Peace, Aid and Recovery Day was organized in Baku, and the first partnership dedicated to the climate and peace connection was established.
