Kyrgyzstan committed to accelerating transition to climate-resilient dev’t models, says DM

Climate change is one of the most serious threats facing humanity, presenting challenges that require urgent collective action at all levels, said Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, Report informs.

Raimkulova made the announcement during a high-level dialogue titled "High-Level Dialogue: Advancing Climate Transparency through Universal Participation in the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF)" held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

"It is crucial that our efforts are based on transparent, reliable, and accurate information," she noted.

The deputy minister emphasized that Kyrgyzstan, one of the world's most climate-sensitive mountainous countries, remains committed to combating climate change and accelerating the transition to climate-resilient, low-carbon development models.

"We are currently planning to implement an initiative to ensure transparency in climate change action under the Paris Agreement, in line with internationally recognized standards, while building capacity," she added.
