Leyla Aliyeva participates in Global Leaders Dialogue at COP29

On November 21, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Public Union, took part in a panel discussion titled "Global Leaders Dialogue: Achieving a Nature Positive Future through Climate Action and Biodiversity Protection in line with the Paris Agreement Goals."

According to Report, the event was jointly organized by the COP29 Presidency, IDEA, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

During the event, Leyla Aliyeva emphasized the scale of damage being caused to the planet by climate change and loss of biodiversity, noting the need for urgent action by the international community.

Event participants were informed that some animal species, including the Caspian tiger and Asiatic lion, which are now extinct, used to inhabit the South Caucasus, especially Azerbaijan.

Leyla Aliyeva noted that since 2011, IDEA has implemented a number of projects and activities aimed at protecting the country's unique nature and ecological balance.
