At COP29's Tourism Day, the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), with support from the State Tourism Agency, presented the second edition of the "Net Zero Roadmap for Travel and Tourism."

According to Report, the Roadmap emphasizes the urgency of climate action to achieve Net Zero emissions in the tourism sector by 2050, serving as an improved decarbonization document following the first roadmap presented in Glasgow at COP26 in 2021.

The report, published with support from the State Tourism Agency, notes that 53% of the 250 analyzed tourism companies have already set their climate goals, showing a 42% increase compared to the first report published in 2021.

It also indicates that in 2023, carbon intensity in the aviation sector decreased by 6% compared to 2019, while both cruise and hotel industries saw an 11% reduction each.

The Roadmap also calls on businesses to set carbon emission reduction targets and encourages tourism and transport companies, governments, and other stakeholders to support measures in this direction.
