Member states of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) have made remarkable advancements in developing their national infrastructure, said Asset Assavbayev, the Secretary General of TRACECA, Report informs.

Assavbayev spoke about this at the ministerial roundtable themed "Sustainable, Digital Middle Corridor and Beyond," held as a part of COP29.

"Despite the progress, we must align our efforts along this path," Asavbayev stated. "Adjustments are necessary to facilitate efficient transit and improve the capacity of our border infrastructure. Moreover, digital connectivity and electronic information exchange in the transport sector should be enhanced, which should be a priority for all corridor states."

He highlighted a recent milestone in digital integration, revealing that integration between the IT systems of Azerbaijan and Georgia was achieved last month.

"We are actively working on integrating the IT systems of Türkiye and Georgia as well," he added. "We must ensure smooth communication among various stakeholders within each country. Digital connectivity is crucial to alleviate the increasing pressures on our transportation systems."
