Azerbaijani opera singer gets main award of CIS

Azerbaijani opera singer Elchin Azizov has received the main award of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for achievements in the humanitarian sphere - Star of the Commonwealth, Russian bureau of Report informs.

The award ceremony will take place on December 21 in the Great Hall of the Pashkov House in Moscow.

The awards will be presented in a mixed format. Laureates from the Commonwealth countries will attend the ceremony online. The CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of the People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Skripka will perform in their honor on the stage of the Pashkov House.

The ceremony will be attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Executive Director of the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the CIS (IFESCCO) Anatoly Iksanov.
