New statues of great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov and opera singer Bulbul will be erected in Shusha, artist, sculptor Aslan Rustamov told Report.
He noted that before the occupation, there were monuments to both Hajibeyov and Bulbul in Shusha: "Sculptor Ahmad Salikov made the statue of Uzeyir Hajibeyov. It was erected in Shusha on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the composer, but Armenian vandals destroyed it. We're erecting the statue with the help of the photos in the archives."
Rustamov noted that Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu asked him to make a sculpture of Bulbul: "A statue of Bulbul was erected in the yard of the house museum in Shusha and destroyed by Armenians. Now, we are preparing the same form as the monument. We are working on both statues together with my sons Teymur and Mahmud."
