Agida Manizade, a professor at Radford University in the US state of Virginia, was elected president of the math teachers' council.
According to Report, the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora has issued a statement in this regard.
Our compatriot, born in Baku, graduated from Baku State University. She then went on to study at the College of William & Mary, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States, and the University of Virginia, one of the top three public universities in the country.
Manizade is currently a professor of mathematics and statistics at Radford University. She is engaged in research in mathematics teachers' knowledge, the teaching of geometry and educational technologies. She is the editor-in-chief of the Virginia Mathematics Teacher Journal and the author of numerous articles. The professor was awarded honorary prizes.
