Azerbaijan will host the 2nd meeting of the interior ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) countries in 2025, as decided during the first meeting held today in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, according to Report, which cites the organization's press service.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijan's Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, along with interior ministers from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
In his speech, Secretary General Omuraliev noted that this event will form the basis for a new, regular platform for cooperation among interior ministers, further strengthening unity and collaboration in the Turkic world.
The ministers discussed their agencies' activities in combating transnational organized crime, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and human trafficking, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among internal affairs bodies in fighting such crimes.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint declaration and the decision to hold the second meeting of interior ministers in Azerbaijan in 2025.
