Azerbaijani seismologists to again conduct research in earthquake region of Türkiye

Azerbaijani seismologists will again conduct research in the earthquake region in Türkiye, General director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center under ANAS, professor Gurban Yetirmisli said at the online meeting on "February 6, 2023 Earthquakes and Engineering Panel", Report informs.

At the meeting, the professor spoke about the gravimetric, magnetometric, engineering-seismic and macroseismic studies they conducted in April 2023 with the center's employees in the city of Kahramanmaras, which suffered the most destruction in the earthquake region of Türkiye, and the town of Pazarcik, which was the epicenter of the earthquake.

Gurban Yetirmisli, who stated that as a result of the research conducted by the specialists of the RSSC, the tension situation in the area was determined, said that in connection with the future construction works, the depth structure of these areas will be studied and the seismicity of the area will be assessed.
