Today, the presentation of the book reflecting the results of the research on "The fate of Tepebashi quarter, the last remnant of Azerbaijan's national-cultural and historical heritage in the city of Yerevan: the destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and the erasure of historical traces" was held today in the Gulustan palace, Report informs.
During the presentation, the participants were informed about the history of the city of Yerevan, including the Tepebashi part, the process of the systematic destruction of the Azerbaijani heritage that started in the city a hundred years ago and is still ongoing, the last remains of the Tepebashi quarter that were also demolished and the danger of the complete destruction of the area.
A film about the national and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan in Yerevan was projected at the event.
A book containing the materials obtained as a result of the research has been printed. The book will make an important contribution to the protection of the national-cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan and its promotion at the international level, and the work done in the direction of conveying the truths of Azerbaijan to the world community.
The book also contans the archival documents that prove the ownership of the Tepebashi quarter and the last monuments that are about to be destroyed there belong to the Azerbaijani people.
A group of scientists and public representatives of Azerbaijan addressed UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay regarding the cultural genocide carried out by Armenia against the national-cultural and historical heritage of the Azerbaijani people located in Yerevan as a whole, including the Tepebashi quarter of the city.
Within the framework of the event, a photo exhibition of destroyed and demolished monuments in the Tepebashi neighborhood was organized.
State officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, scientific and educational institutions, public organizations, as well as members of families who lived in the Tepebashi neighborhood took part in the event.
