DNA analysis has been taken from 10,805 family members of approximately 3,750 missing persons, said Ismayil Akhundov, head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, told a briefing, Report informs.
According to him, the process is currently ongoing: "Our commission did not have any problems related to other non-taken analyses. Because sometimes relatives of missing persons refused to give DNA analysis. At the same time, those who have lost hope that the bodies of their missing loved ones will be found after 30 years do not want to give an analysis. Or in some cases, none of the missing persons have family members in Azerbaijan, that is, they live abroad. Of course, it was not possible to take analyzes from them. All conducted analyses have been archived."
