The execution of the order by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev “On the pardon of several convicted persons” has started, Report informs.
According to the document, a total of 213 people previously sentenced to imprisonment have been pardoned.
Thus, 167 people sentenced to imprisonment were released from the unserved part of the punishment, one person was released from life imprisonment. The unserved part of the punishment of 36 people was reduced by half.
Three persons sentenced conditionally have been released from punishment. Six people were released from the unserved part of the punishment in the form of restriction of freedom.
Three pardoned persons are foreigners (citizens of Uzbekistan, Iran and Turkiye).
The pardon order also affected 20 people who participated in the riots in Ganja on July 10, 2018.
