Largest monastery in Azerbaijan, Khudavang, subjected to Armenian falsification

The Khudavang Monastery in the Kalbajar region has been transferred to the Udi community, its original owners.

According to Report's western bureau, during the occupation from 1993 to 2020, Armenians attempted to falsify the monastery's history, vainly trying to present it as Armenian.

The complex's symbols were replaced, different crosses were installed, and the walls were decorated with inscriptions in the so-called "ancient Armenian language." Additionally, ancient Albanian (Udi) graves on the territory were destroyed and demolished.

After Kalbajar's liberation from occupation, the monastery returned to its original owners.

The Khudavang Monastery, founded by Dadi - a disciple of Apostle Thaddeus, is one of the most significant shrines of Caucasian Albania and the largest monastery in Azerbaijan.
