MP: Liberation of Kalbajar - Azerbaijan's political and diplomatic victory

The liberation of Kalbajar is Azerbaijan's victory both politically and diplomatically, MP Mushfig Jafarli told Report.

"The trilateral statement of November 10, 2020, signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia, ensured the liberation of Kalbajar without a single shot, which confirmed Azerbaijan's victory both on the battlefield and in diplomacy," Jafarli said.

He emphasized that years of occupation caused serious damage to the district's ecology: forests were destroyed, water resources were polluted, and natural resources were plundered. Before leaving, Armenians also mined the territory, burned buildings, cut down trees, and committed ecocide, the deputy said.

"Today, restoration work is actively underway in Kalbajar. The natural landscapes, water resources, and historical monuments of the district make it a promising tourist destination," Jafarli noted.
