President's Aide: Shusha is free today, and great leader's soul is happy

Today, the people of Azerbaijan celebrate the joy of having liberated Shusha, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration said, as quoted by Report.

"Today, the city of Shusha is free, and the great leader's soul is happy. He wanted to see this day; he bequeathed this day. The city of Shusha and our lands were liberated from occupation by the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief," the diplomat said.

"Today, the Azerbaijani people are smiling. Earlier, Armenians celebrated May 8 with great joy, marking the next anniversary of the the operation Wedding in the Mountains. Now we see their grief. It was an occupied land, and it had to be liberated. Shusha has been liberated. Today, the people of Azerbaijan celebrate the joy of having liberated Shusha. Official events are held in Shusha. Every Azerbaijani citizen is happy about it," the presidential aide said.
