Minister: Azerbaijan's rich cultural heritage examples included in list of UNESCO

TURKSOY's role in preserving the rich material and spiritual heritage of the Turkic states and passing it on to future generations is irreplaceable, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev said at the 9th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY Member States, Report informs.

He said that the presence of the rich natural heritage of the Turkic states located in a wide geographical area and joint activities in this field make TURKSOY one of the main organizations in the protection of our natural heritage on an international scale:

"In this regard, I would like to emphasize the importance of expanding the issues mentioned in the resolutions adopted at the 8th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY Member States held in Bursa, Türkiye, especially in the protection of natural and cultural heritage."

Babayev emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan started cooperation with UNESCO from 1992 and successful activities were carried out in many areas:

"During the past period, a number of examples of the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan were included in the relevant list of UNESCO and took their rightful place on the global scale."
