Work continues under the joint project "Caucasus Crossing" of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, the University of Missouri, and the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine.
American seismologists - Professor of the University of Missouri Eric Sandwall, University researchers Utku Kochum and Oguzkhan Yalvac are visiting Azerbaijan.
During the visit, several temporary stations will be relocated following the project's program with the participation of American experts.
One temporary seismic station will be installed in the Ujar district, four in Aghjabadi and one in Fuzuli. In addition, data will be transferred from temporary stations placed in the regions and sent for processing.
The delegation led by Eric Sandwall will hold discussions with the staff of the Republican Seismic Survey Center on seismic tomography, as well as the processing of collected data. It is also planned to maintain seismic stations.
The primary purpose of the "Caucasus Crossing" project launched in 2017 is to conduct seismic tomography in Azerbaijan.
