Work is underway in Azerbaijan to have a distance learning form, Education Minister Emin Amrullayev told journalists, Report informs.
According to him, the necessary condition for the recognition of education in one way or another is the accreditation of the program:
"There is currently no quality-assured distance learning program in Azerbaijan. In this regard, joint work is being done with the Parliamentary Committee on Science and Education to form a legislative framework."
"Distance education is only a form of education, in order for the knowledge and skills given there to be recognized by a diploma, the program must pass through a quality assurance system. Probably, over time, we will move forward in this direction as an education system. But we do not want distance education to become a diploma distribution or illegal diploma in any format. If we do this, we intend to do so within the accepted standards of the world," the minister stressed.
