The 23rd World Petroleum Congress, the oil and gas industry’s most prestigious global event, has kicked off in Houston, US, Report informs referring to foreign media outlets.
The forum will last until December 9 and will bring together more than 5,000 representatives from 70 countries, including heads of major specialized companies, ministers and experts. A rich business program will give participants the opportunity to discuss issues of further development of the planet’s energy sector in the context of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
At the opening ceremony of the congress, Chairman of the 23rd World Petroleum Congress Organizing Committee Jeff Shellebarger said that this event will allow participants, despite the difference in interests and approaches, to converge their positions on global energy security issues and discuss other topics.
