Turkish petrochemical giant Petkim has a total annual production of 3.6 million tons.
According to Report, Anar Mammadov, director-general of Petkim, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) investment in Turkey, and head of the SOCAR-Turkey Refining and Petrochemical Cooperation, told journalists at an online meeting today.
Two million tons of these products are sold: "Petkim's share in the Turkish petrochemical market is 18%."
He noted that the standard crude oil refining capacity of STAR, Turkey's next-generation oil factory, is 10 million tons: "This is 20-25% of Turkey's demand for oil-based products."
Mammadov said the plant uses 10.3 million tons of crude oil and 0.3 million cubic meters of natural gas a year. "The annual refining capacity of STAR is 10 million tons. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel (1.6 million), and naphtha (1.5 million). Besides, the plant produces 0.3 million tons of LPG, 1 million tons of reformat, 0.7 million tons of petroleum coke, and 0.2 million tons of sulfur per year."
The refinery will process 11 million tons of oil: "Next year, the plant's capacity is expected to exceed 106%. By the end of this year, the volume of oil processed at STAR will be 76 million barrels."
