Austrian companies interested in co-op in solar and hydro energy fields in Karabakh

There is potential for Austrian companies to cooperate in renewable energy sector in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The statement was voiced at a meeting with Austrian companies visiting Azerbaijan for the 10th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Austria Joint Commission on Economic, Agricultural, Industrial, Technical and Technological Cooperation.

The delegation led by Franz Wessig, Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Group of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Austria Joint Commission, was informed about the strategic goals for expanding the use of green energy in Azerbaijan.

A presentation was made on the renewable energy potential of Azerbaijan, including offshore wind energy resources, the institutional environment in the field and the steps taken to achieve the set goals, as well as future plans.

The companies participating in the meeting provided detailed information on their profiles and activities, and expressed interest in a detailed study of potential opportunities for cooperation in the field of solar energy and hydropower in the liberated territories.
